Elias Prinz has quickly made a name for himself in the "gypsy jazz" scene, often flanked by Ida Koch on bass. He is particularly interested in the inventor of this genre, Django Reinhardt, and his musical final phase, in which the forefather of "jazz manouche" played in a line-up with piano and drums.

BE MY GUEST #11
Tradition ahead!
At a time when jazz legends such as Sonny Rollins and Roy Haynes are approaching 100, it is noticeable that some of the younger jazz generation are consciously engaging with the tradition of improvised music. The 11th Be My Guest season presents predominantly young people who have already left the label "talent" behind them. Look forward to seven concerts with youthful vigor and conscious reference to the great, rich past of jazz!
