Baskery

A fresh breeze from the north: Baskery from Stockholm are regarded as one of the most exciting live acts far beyond their home country of Sweden. The trio consists of sisters Sunniva, Greta and Stella Bondesson. Whether at Glastonbury in England, Toender in Denmark, Down Under at the Woodfork Folk Festival, at the world's biggest music trade fair, SXSW in Austin (Texas), as live guests on "Inas Nacht" or as support for Robbie Williams - Baskery have thrilled audiences everywhere with their brilliant, energetic stage show.
Polyphonic vocals and the playful mastery of various instruments characterize the performances of this infernal trio. Although Sunniva is the youngest member of the trio, she sets the tone in terms of lead vocals and songwriting. She plays the acoustic rhythm guitar and some cello. Stella plays the huge acoustic bass in the style of many rock 'n' roll and rockabilly idols. Greta sits behind a bass drum, which she usually drums barefoot. Her main instrument, however, is the banjo, which she often plays with slide and electric distortion. Like Stella, she sings great harmony vocals.
