The exhibition "Average Peace Enjoyer", which was originally shown at the Asortymentna Kimnata in Ivano-Frankivsk in western Ukraine, examined the complexity of peace: even after the fighting has ended, the consequences of the conflict and personal traumas linger on for a long time. In a panel discussion moderated by Solomiya editor Ivanna Kozachenko, Maria Noshenko, Boyan Stojčić and Maksym Khodak, curators and artists of the exhibition, will continue the dialog they began back then.
The examination of media representation, war, Western paternalism, celebrity activism and the paradox of expectations that victims of war must constantly meet the demands of distant viewers is based on examples such as Bosnia, which concluded peace negotiations in 1995 but is still marked by the aftermath of war.
The recently published exhibition catalog "Average Peace Enjoyer" will also be presented at the event and Bojan's short film "Hope Hotel Phantom" (2023) will be shown.
