Galerie Stadt Sindelfingen is delighted to present BLINDHÆD, the first institutional solo exhibition by Justin Urbach (*1995 in Munich) at Schaufenstern junge Kunst. BLINDHÆD is an exhibition that allows us to see further than our eyes can see. Justin Urbach's works explore the multifaceted dimensions of vision, which is currently no longer exclusively human. It is increasingly shaped by technology, machine perception and the optimization of the body. The eponymous BLINDHÆD, a road sign warning of restricted vision, serves as a symbol for the ambivalence of seeing and becomes a metaphor for the limits of human perception.

With neuromorphic camera technologies, wall sculptures, laser-engraved screens and immersive projections, his works operate at the interface of art and science. They question how our understanding of the visually legible changes when it is expanded and at the same time fragmented by the influence of algorithms, cameras and sensors.

The exhibition invites us to reflect on the possibilities and challenges of a speculative future of seeing, a future in which transhuman perspectives expand our spectrum of perception and renegotiate the boundaries of physicality.
