Ausstellungseröffnung: Cutting the puppeteer's strings

The Philara Collection cordially invites you to the opening of its new exhibition Cutting the Puppeteer's Strings on Sunday, 20.10.2024, from 14:00-18:00 with Bulle Buger, drinks and DJ.

The Philara Collection is pleased to present Cutting the Puppeteer's Strings, a comprehensive group exhibition spanning 1,700 square meters. The presentation deals with marionettes and puppet theater, shadow and puppetry as well as related aspects of stage, display and figure in contemporary art - where the traditional craft of puppet theater is currently receiving special attention. The exhibited works pose questions, sometimes in a humorous way, about our options for action on a private or political level and provide approaches for a rethink. At the same time, they shed light on our innermost desires, wishes and feelings. The exhibition brings together works from Gil Bronner's collection, loans and new productions especially for the exhibition, which are complemented by a cooperation with the Marionette Theater in Düsseldorf.
