For the first time, a book by thriller author Sebastian Fitzek is being adapted for the stage as a live radio play. The Lauscherlounge is staging "The Package" in an abridged stage version. With selected dubbing actors, an extra sound design and music, this gripping psychological thriller is brought to the stage. The live radio play adaptation is written and directed by radio play director and author Josef Ulbig.

A harmless everyday life turns into a dangerous nightmare: ever since the young psychiatrist Emma Stein was raped in a hotel room, she has never left the house. She was the third victim of a psychopath and serial killer known in the press as the "hairdresser". Emma, the only one to escape with her life, is terrified that the "hairdresser" might come back to haunt her and carry out his gruesome deed. She only feels safe in her small house on the edge of Berlin's Grunewald forest, until one day the letter carrier asks her to accept a parcel for her neighbor. A man whose name she doesn't know and whom she has never seen before, even though she has lived in her street for years ...

Sebastian Fitzek, born in 1971, is Germany's most successful author of psychological thrillers. Since his debut "Die Therapie" (2006), all of his novels have been at the top of the bestseller lists. His books have already sold 13 million copies, have been translated into twenty-four languages and have been adapted for international cinema and theater. Sebastian Fitzek was the first German author to be awarded the European Prize for Crime Fiction.

The director

Josef Ulbig is a radio play director and author. He studied "European Media Studies", then "Screenwriting" and has been working for the Lauscherlounge Group in the radio play department since 2014. He is also head of the "stories" think tank at radio play studio XBerg. His debut radio play "Kleiner Drei" (with Max Riemelt, among others) was produced especially for Lauscherlounge in 2019. Since 2017, he has directed the Audible radio plays by Sebastian Fitzek "Der Nachtwandler", Rebecca Gablé's "Waringham-Saga" and Jan Weiler's "Kühn hat zu tun".
