Children's opera by Johann Casimir Eule and Wiebke Hetmanek
Music by Christoph Willibald Gluck
Arrangement for chamber orchestra by Samuel Bächli
Age recommendation: 5-10 years
Armide is a powerful sorceress. However, hardly anyone knows this because she lives alone on a desert island. She has only spared the root dwarf Willibald and Lully, the fairy, with her magic trick of turning everything and everyone into pigs. But that could now change. Because when Armide prepares to enchant even someone from the audience, a dangerous quarrel breaks out on the island.
With music from various works by Christoph Willibald Gluck, the children's opera tells a ludicrous story in which the magic of the theater not only enchants the characters on stage, but also casts a spell over the young audience.
