What a confusion! On board the ocean liner "S. S. America", the motto seems to be: "Anything Goes" - "Everything is possible". The nightclub singer and former lay preacher Reno Sweeney meets the British aristocrat Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, the financially troubled widow Evangeline Harcourt accompanied by her daughter Hope meets the stockbroker Elisha Whitney and his assistant Billy Crocker, the crook disguised as a priest and "public enemy no. 2" Moonface Martin meets FBI agents - in short: real and false identities mix and unravel in a way that is a real delight.
Behind the spectacle is one of the most creative minds of the classic musical - Cole Porter. He not only created musical hits such as Kiss Me, Kate and High Society, many of his songs became jazz standards and evergreens. Anything Goes also has a number of these to offer, above all "You're the Top", "All Through the Night" and "I Get a Kick Out of You". And in Magdeburg, Melissa King, one of the most important choreographers and directors on the German-speaking musical scene, ensures the right tempo!
