ANTUN OPIC AND NILZ HÜBENBECKER
IN THE SIGN OF THE COMMUNE NO.XIII

Opposites attract. Munich songwriter Antun Opic and Nilz Hübenbecker (Red Manhole) from Würzburg have been musical friends for many years. If you compare their musical work, it's hard to imagine what motivates them to describe themselves as musical soul mates. Opic's songs are bittersweet, melancholic, cynical and yet humorous. His compositions are complex and delicate. He is more of an introverted folk or blues bard. Hübenbecker, on the other hand, has made concert halls in Germany dance and sweat with his punk-klezmer-polka band "Red Manhole". He develops a power on stage that sweeps everyone away: a musical force! He is an extroverted activist who uses his virtuoso piano playing as a weapon - a gifted musician who is at home on almost any instrument.
For many years, the two have been inviting each other to so-called "commune concerts", where they throw their songs into a pot and perform them together with the host's band.
So you can look forward to an extensive concert night. Three courses will be served: one set will focus on new songs by Antun Opic, one on those by Nilz Hübenbecker and to round things off, there will be plenty of dancing.
