Casually cruising through the streets on a skateboard, punk rock in your ears and being against it, may we introduce: ANTILLECTUAL. They are the musical middle finger against the whole shit from capital to right-wing populism. No boring pop seminar about the misery of the world, but energetic melodic punk rock from the Netherlands. Not a polished commercialized 08/15 band, but 100% DIY. They still do everything themselves, from lugging instruments around to handing over the long-awaited shirt at the merchandise stand. And yet they are not grumpy guys, but super likeable guys. Ben, who reminds us of Van Halen with his acrobatic interludes. Then there's Riekus, who fires up the whole spectacle with his driving drumming and not forgetting Willem, singer and guitarist, who fires up the audience with solid lyrics and lush riffs.
