Psychological puberty is known to begin at around the age of thirteen. Anyone who thinks it's over at sixteen is mistaken. Because I'm only really in my early forties! Okay, an artist needs strong feelings. How else can she write moving songs? But I clearly have too many of them:

There's the urge to save the world, the joy of old age, the fear of ageing, the desire to poison my dog, the guilty conscience because I have the desire to poison my dog, the longing for the great Hollywood love, the desire for casual sex, the craving for high-calorie food, the irrepressible will to write a hit, the inner emptiness because I've been trying to write a hit for years, the unconditional love for my child and the hatred of mothers who can tinker.

How can I cope with all these emotions? How can I filter them? I have no idea. But I try - in my songs.

The multi-award-winning chansonnier and cabaret artist Anna Piechotta, who was recently awarded the prestigious Bavarian Cabaret Prize 2023 (music), performs a contemplative reflection in her program "Too Many Emotions" in order to finally find her ego identity as a middle-aged woman. Whether this succeeds is open to question. But what is not in question is that it will be funny, witty and extremely musical.
