"Vacation with the parents. We're sitting at the airport 5 (!) hours before departure, and mom is desperate because she printed out the boarding passes on A3 and thinks that's why we're not allowed to fly."
This is how André Herrmann, 36, a comedian from Berlin/Leipzig, began the documentation of his trip with his parents in 2022, which quickly went viral. Under the hashtag #UmdE, he reported for eight days on the impassability of their journey together and quickly inspired a huge following, so that in the end over 1 million people were reading online every day about how an over-60 couple from Saxony-Anhalt turned everything upside down in the distance. And tour guide André soon realized what it means when a son abroad is suddenly responsible for his parents ...
"If André Herrmann wasn't so unwieldy, I would take him with me on every trip from now on to document it."
Felix Lobrecht, comedian
From 2022 to spring 2024, André toured live with his first solo program "Roast in Peace". From fall 2024, André will be touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland with his new book.
