Formed in 2016, AmyJo Doh & The Spangles inhabit the beautiful, sometimes grungy streets of the Spanish capital. Led by the dynamic AmyJo Doherty - Pete Doherty's older and sometimes wiser sister - they have quickly become a force on the underground scene, releasing their debut album CALLE DE THE SPANGLES in 2018 via SweeplandRecords and have since carved out their own space with their unique sound and captivating stage presence. The music is an exciting mix, infused with AmyJo's distinctive voice and powerful lyrics.

AmyJo Doh & The Spangles draw inspiration from punk icons such as The Clash and Blondie as well as modern rock influences, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary. The songs are well received by a wide audience and the band is known and loved for their infectious melodies and lively energy. AmyJo Doh & The Spangles' message is an upbeat one and they want to share it LIVE and LOUD! AmyJo Doh & The Spangles were on tour with The Libertines and Pete Doherty. Now they're back on the road in Germany, because the party punk darlings from Madrid have released a new album: SpangleLandia was released in November'24 on red vinyl, CD and digitally on most streaming services. In true Spangle style, the album brings together various EPs and members of the extended Spangle family, but the energy and message remain consistent. It's an eclectic mix of great songs that explore themes of love, rebellion, personal freedom - and ham. The band remains unabashedly eclectic. As AmyJo says: "Punk is not a style of music, it's an attitude. Each song is a universe unto itself."

About the first single release via Strap Originals, AmyJo Doh says: "Arise was inspired by a passage from the Bible: Song of Solomon 2:10-14. It's a call to rise up and seize the day. Winter is over and it's time to celebrate! Stop hiding away! Wake up and do your thing, you beautiful people!" AmyJo Doh in November. Why not?
