The Allen-Forrester Band is a joint project of the two New York guitarists Ben Forrester and Josh Allen. Influenced by the pioneers of southern rock such as the Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Crowes and Blackberry Smoke, the two give the classic twin-guitar sound a new twist and combine their influences into a rousing mix of crunchy blues rock and melodic southern rock.
The Allen-Forrester Band's live shows not only thrive on the band's classic American retro sound and Josh Allen's raspy blues voice, but also on the band's joy of playing and improvisational skills, to which the German rhythm section (Hendrik Herder on bass and Matthias Böhm on drums) also contribute alongside the two American guitarists. RockTimes says in a nutshell: "blues rock fireworks!"
Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album (which hit the German album charts straight away in spring), the Allen-Forrester Band will be returning to Europe in November for a few selected shows. In their luggage they will have the brand new limited vinyl edition of the new studio album - a must for all fans of "guitar-heavy, blues-soaked southern rock" (BluesNews)!
