ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHT won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2024 Cannes International Film Festival.

Nurse Prabha and her younger colleague Anu work in a hospital in Mumbai and share an apartment. Prabha is estranged from her husband, who lives in Germany, but forbids herself any contact with other men. Instead, she throws herself into work. Anu is newly in love and is secretly seeing a young man whom she is not allowed to love. When Prabha receives an unexpected gift from her husband, it throws her life into disarray. Meanwhile, the carefree Anu is looking for a place in the city where she can be intimate with her lover. When their mutual colleague Parvaty loses her apartment due to a luxury renovation and has to move back to the countryside, Prabha and Anu visit her in the small village by the sea. There, far away from Mumbai, they come across a mystical forest. The place is a space of freedom for all three, it helps the women to realize their dreams and lets them step from darkness into light.
