What do you do when a big event with sensational character is about to take place, but one nasty surprise follows the next and everything threatens to end in a dilemma? That's what happens to the opera director in the new fast-paced comedy by Ken Ludwig, who, after his worldwide success Otello darf nicht platzen, leaves it to the women to direct the highly entertaining everyday madness behind the theater scenes.

In Alarm in't Theaterhuus - Carmen darf nicht platzen, a spirited star soprano takes center stage instead of a tenor. After a jealous quarrel with her husband, she is unable to make her eagerly awaited performance. So the artistic director's assistant has to stand in as a double, as the many illustrious guests cannot afford to cancel.

The fact that two young, attractive opera and diva lovers are simultaneously embarking on an erotic odyssey makes the confusion even more amusing. Things get confusing behind the scenes, but of course the audience doesn't notice. Just like in real life.
