A crossover between elements of jazz and various styles from the Caribbean, played with a large arsenal of percussion instruments, whereby the music of Cuba is given a key position (Afro Cuban Jazz). Afro Cuban Jazz has developed since the 1940s and is characterized by the inclusion of melodic and above all rhythmic elements of Afro-Cuban music, as an early form of Latin Jazz: Israel "Cachao" López . He was a Cuban bassist and composer and is considered one of Cuba's most important musicians (together with his brother Orestes), founder of the mambo.
