Brackweder Advent market at St. Bartholomew's Church with a wide range of offers

On the 2nd weekend in Advent, the Brackweder Advent market at St. Bartholomew's Church offers a wide range of activities. On St. Nicholas Day, you can visit the decorated stalls from 4 pm. The official opening by district mayor Jesco von Kuczkowski takes place at 5 pm, accompanied by the choir of the Südschule. St. Nicholas will then come to the church square with little surprises for the children, followed by a song from the choir school. From 6 p.m., the Bartholomäuskirche will be filled with festive music by accordion orchestras and the young singing voices of the choir school in a joint concert. On Saturday afternoon from 3 p.m., the Vogelruth School choir will perform, followed by the "Kronjuwelen" singing group from the Brackweder Karnevalverein. On Saturday evening, the children's choir of the "Wunderwelt" school of the Bielefeld Ukrainian Community "BUG" will sing. On Sunday afternoon from 3 p.m., you can listen to Christmas poems performed by class 5b of Brackwede secondary school. Then the men's choir Harmonie will sing and certainly encourage some people to sing along. The program ends with a torchlight procession by the Brackwede volunteer fire department. The offer on the church square is wide-ranging. It ranges from non-alcoholic and alcoholic hot drinks, Christmas cookies and honey products to handicrafts, handcrafts, freshly baked waffles, "Kastenpickert" and Turkish specialties. You can bake bread on a stick over an open fire. A large samovar will also be in operation for the first time. A photo box allows individual pictures to be taken. Last but not least, bratwurst, French fries and fried potatoes with fried eggs are on offer.

In the Bartholomew parish hall, there is a range of handicrafts for children as well as knitted, handmade, wood-carved and porcelain products. There are gift ideas for every taste. Various handmade Advent decorations can be purchased, while coffee and cake are offered in the cozy YMCA coffee shop. On Sunday, after the church service, the "Kirchkaffee" can be enjoyed in the Bartholomäus parish hall. The stores on the main street will be open for shopping on Sunday from 1 pm. The Advent market promises to be a wonderful time of togetherness and in anticipation of Christmas Eve and Christmas.
