It has six times the mass of Earth, orbits its sun-like star in the habitable zone (liquid water, Earth-like life conceivable) and is a stone's throw away at 20 light years. A real gem, because none of this can be said of the more than 5600 known exoplanets. It is well worth a visit. But how to get there? Anne-Dorette Ziems has also asked herself this question and written an entertaining book: Ab ins Space! is called How we get to foreign planets without getting killed. The casual tone is intentional, the offer is low-threshold. Ziems can present information in an accessible way. She is active on Instagram and You-Tube as ''annesnerdnight'' with short films about space. Salon presenter Matthias Vogel is a bit of a nerd and talks to Anne-Dorette Ziems about distant planets and knowledge transfer in our time.
