7. Türchen: Altonaer Theater und Hamburger Kammerspiele

The TheaterCard opens the doors to Hamburg's best-known and most renowned private theaters: the Altonaer Theater and the Hamburger Kammerspiele.

Enjoy a varied program of literary stage adaptations at the Altonaer Theater, whose motto "We play books" is all about literature. At home in the center of Altona, hardly any other theater is so representative of its district and at the same time has such a strong appeal beyond Hamburg's city limits.

In the Grindel district, the Hamburger Kammerspiele offers sophisticated drama and music productions and is a real cultural highlight of Hamburg. With its long tradition and impressive history, the theater is one of Hamburg's central cultural venues. Since its opening in 1945, the theater has developed into one of the city's most outstanding venues and still embodies the term "theater of humanity" coined by Ida Ehre.
