45 Jahre Zither-Manä — Jetz erst recht

In the organizer's words:

It all began on January 6, 1980, 45 years ago in Wörnsmühl in the Leitzach valley near Miesbach. After a live performance at the Nägele with his folk music program, a session with rock musicians took place there. The zither was "abused" by rock music there for the first time with great success.

Now it is time to look back on a very long and fulfilling career with the program: 45 years of Zither-Manä - Jetz erst recht

In this long time, the world has changed so radically that it is worth taking a look back: the unspeakable becomes sayable! False reports, so-called fake news, are now normal, war in the middle of Europe has become possible again
and fascists have finally become socially acceptable and sit in democratically elected parliaments around the world. A new autocratic world order is imminent.

The unforgotten cabaret artist Dieter Hildebrand, a role model for Zither-Manä, said when asked what he actually does on stage:

He said "I do entertainment, but with the emphasis on attitude!"

Zither-Manä's program ranges from folk songs and country songs to rock'n roll, blues, Irish folk, ballads from Kiem Pauli and Kraud'n Sepp to zither rock and Pink Floyd. He uses his zither as a universal instrument.

Being a critical and political person and songwriter and publicly reflecting on the grievances of his time is his second side to his music. Because just as he plays what he wants, he also says what he thinks.

Prizes among others:

In May 2012, Zither-Manä was the first zither player to receive the newly created Golden Zither Honorary Award for his services to the further development of the zither and zither music.

In November 2013, he received the Bavarian Poet's Thaler from the Munich Tower Writers for the important impetus he has given to Bavarian folk music.
