The Japanese-born pianist Hisako Kawamura has her pianistic roots
pianist Hisako Kawamura has her roots in Göttingen. As a participant
in the 2nd International Göttingen Chopin Competition
1993, the then eleven-year-old came into contact with the Polish

Schreiber, with whom she took lessons in Göttingen from then on.

career worldwide. In 2015 she became a profes-

Music. The violinist Sarah Christian comes from Augs-
burg, won 2nd prize in the 2017 ARD Music Competition.
