NOISE: 2M2 - SVARTVIT - PALANCA

Svartvit is Harshnoise from the Netherlands.

Palanca are from Munich and are Daniel Door (electronics) and Constanza Meléndez (drums).

2M2 was founded in 2016 and is a Swiss-Chinese duo for experimental, improvised noise music. 2M2 are Swiss drummer Maxime Hänsenberger and Chinese electronic noise musician and performer Mei Zhiyong. 2M2 plays loud and intense performances. Their performances are a confrontation of sound explosions of loud, monolithic, multi-frequency electronic walls, harsh noise sounds and heavy, textured acoustic drums with lots of free jazz and grindcore material. After a first tour in Switzerland and France (2017) and a second in China, Hong Kong and Japan (2018), the project released a cassette with two live recordings from the China tour. They are currently working on their next release.

Born in Shangdong, China in 1984,Mei Zhiyong is the founder of the Fuzztape label and a member of the Nojiji Noise Group and one of the most important international noise experimenters and hardware noise instrument DIYers in China. He is also active in the field of independent film and photography. Mei Zhiyong regards noise as a carrier that breaks all rules. In his opinion, only by sinking into nothingness can people resolve the contradiction between voice and body and between body and mind. Strong physical actions and obsession with electronic/industrial pieces make each of his live performances unique. Mei Zhiyong has toured Europe, Japan and China several times since 2014. He is about to become the new face of the noise and experimental music scene in Asia. (Website A bunch of noise - ABON Festival)

Maxime Hänsenberger, born in 1988, has been active in various music scenes for more than fifteen years. He started playing in various bands in the metal/punk/grindcore scene and later turned to jazz and improvised music. While he is still active in the above mentioned scenes, he is also part of experimental, loud, improvised and free music. His current projects are Convulsif, Nostromo, Exorbitant Prices Must Diminish, Secrétariat. He also works regularly with various artists/projects such as Insub Meta Orchestra, Mumakil, Steve Buchanan, Anton Ponomarev, Antoine Chessex...
