"At Electric Island, it's guaranteed to be good." Sounds like a promise, but is a physical law. Familiar encounters, warm-hearted hedonism, a beacon of club culture - these are typical buzzwords when you ask about this series. In 2004, it seemed utopian that the oh-so-chic genres of house and techno could become firmly established in the self-managed youth cultural center. In the meantime, Electric Island has shaped cohorts of revelers and taught all subsequent crew members the crazy highs and lows of organizing. Always with pure passion for the music, loving ideas and creative details.

These insane 20 years will be celebrated on March 14 & 15 with a 28h party that connects generations like a perfectly mixed DJ set. Friday starts in the hall with a champagne and canapés vernissage with photos by Martin Lovekosi of past Electric Islands and an acoustic exhibition by R!ke, each of which will allow you to indulge in these magical memories. Afterwards, it's all about the most important things: letting go, dancing, immersing yourself.

The line-up will see the return of some iconic heroes: Steffen Bennemann has shaped the city for many years with his emotional sets and bold bookings (including for Nachti). Lux was a co-initiator of the pioneering IO collective and, with her versatile style, also a role model for younger DJs. There will also be many surprising back2Backs from old and new companions in keeping with Electric Island's reputation as a euphoric hub.

Saturday belongs to the café as a feel-good oasis for exchange, cozy dancing and demolition. Here we are particularly looking forward to Resom, who was one of the most important pioneers of the FLINTA* DJ empowerment in Leipzig and is known for her atmospheric sets, this time together with sound architect Ateq, who now runs his own label "Pale Product". The grand finale celebrates another anniversary: 15 years of HW Rhapsody. The two "fathers" of Borna's Hortwiese once initiated a veritable exodus from the surrounding area to the notorious Connewitz Island, which they have been delighting with their stylistic openness ever since.
