Legendary mountaineering personalities, great adventure reports, exciting live lectures, impressive films and documentaries - to be experienced at the 20th Bergsichten Festival - Germany's popular summit meeting for all those who are enthusiastic about mountaineering, outdoor adventures and mountain films.

The Bergsichten-Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a varied program: visitors can look forward to five exciting live lectures, 17 mountain and outdoor films, two readings, a photo exhibition and the Bergsichtenmesse. Highlights include appearances by extreme climber Alexander Huber ("Zeit zum Atmen"), extreme mountaineer Robert Jasper ("Bergsteigen am Ende der Welt"), the winner of last year's short film competition, Rebecca Salentin ("Iron Woman - 10,000 Kilometer mit dem Rad am Eisernen Vorhang") and adventurer Richard Löwenherz ("Into the Wild - Sibirien"). It will be particularly emotional on Sunday when mountaineering legend Hans Kammerlander presents his talk "Manaslu - The Ghost Mountain".

Another highlight is the premiere of a silent film concert: Stephan v. Bothmer will accompany the restored mountain film classic "The Mountain of Destiny" (1924) live at the CineTronium on Sunday (17.11.). In addition, the award-winning film "Himalaya - The Childhood of a Caravan Leader" will be shown in an HD version with original Tibetan sound and German subtitles.
