11 Jahre Indie.Cologne.Fest am 31.8. u. 1.9.24, Odonien

Hey KÖLLE
the Indie.Cologne.Fest turns 11.
and of course we celebrate this on Sat. 31.8.24 and Sun. 1.9.24
on the beautiful #Odonien grounds.
EARLYBIRDTICKETS (only until the beginning of August)
for 2 days incl. aftershow specials for 24,- (plus fees)
ONLINE NOW (the online tickets will be exchanged for a HARDTICKET at the B.O.)

and as always children up to 12 years have Free admission.

And since the 11 is under a very special star in Cologne, there will be 11 acts and special guests and even more space for live music for the anniversary and this time for the first time guests from the UK will be there, who will join the locals and guests from Berlin, Düsseldorf and Solingen on two stages in a colorful mixture of singer/songwriter, indie rock, dreampop, electronic and punk.

With his second album "Rotwein & Rosen", the Düsseldorf songwriter provides haunting insights into his inner emotional life and tells of brief glimmers of hope that fizzle out into panic attacks of heartache and disorientation.
Lines like "I'm defective, gut me! There are still parts you need from me" (song: "Kamikaze")
provide a concise impression to sum up the emotions of this work in a nutshell.

are a pop-punk duo from Cologne who combine their punk socialization with contemporary pop and thus provide the soundtrack to the contradiction we call life.
Somewhere between "Wait, I know that!" and "Wow, that's new!", FLITTERN wrap their critical, even pleasantly self-critical lyrics in a grown-up version of pop-punk with a positive vibe, because now, when things are getting a bit dicey for punk in the face of an increasingly dys-topical world, they don't want to become embittered in their niche.

The songs by #schnuppe are catchy and get you moving.
The four ladies combine NDW, (post-)punk and garagey sounds into an irresistibly raspy mix.
Full of humor and self-irony, their lyrics poke a finger into the social wounds of our time. In fact, everyone gets their comeuppance in SCHNUPPE's lyrics.
Kat's vocals are reminiscent of the early, punky days of NDW with a good pinch of snottiness.
The #oxfanzine writes: "very charming and convincing with their all-female-NDW-postpunk-noisepop, which they perform with absolute joy of playing. Tip!"
The single "Bier für die Girls" with the double A-side "Plastik" is already available on vinyl and digitally.

Now the newcomer is following up and releasing her second EP on the US indie label Don't Be Greedy.

Cologne duo Wolke released their fourth album "Für Immer" in April 2012. On it, Oliver Minck and Benedikt Filleböck once again presented their minimalist, delicate, German-language chamber pop, which they had established on their three previous albums and an EP. Piano, bass, drum computer, a little irony, a little pathos - that was Wolke in a nutshell.
It has now taken a whole twelve years for Wolke to release the follow-up to "Für Immer" with their self-titled new album on April 12, 2024. With subtle sound effects, string and brass arrangements, Wolke consistently develop their chamber pop further and even give Britpop anthems ("Girls & Boys") a typical Wolke arrangement.
