Culture, rally and movement
DGB trade unions and the Ruhrfestspiele kick off the festival with culture and politics at the Kulturvolksfest on the hill. Children and families will find many fun and exciting activities at the Kulturvolksfest: the adventure land "Kinder stark machen" by the Federal Center for Health Education in cooperation with the StadtSportVerband Recklinghausen e. V. and the DROB; the climbing garden and the play mobile of the Falkenfamilie Recklinghausen; the great play activities of the Herwig-Blankertz Berufskolleg.
The sponsorship concert with the eternally young Neue Philharmonie Westfalen will once again take place with two performances. And the milonga for tango enthusiasts will not be missing. Initiatives and associations will be presenting their projects with information and activity stands. The finale of the band contest will once again take place on the Sparkassen-Clubraum stage.
The trade union demonstration starts at 14:30 at the Wolfgang-Borchert-Gesamtschule and arrives at 15:00 behind the Ruhrfestspielhaus. This is where the DGB's May Day rally will begin with keynote speaker Alexander Bercht, member of the IGBCE Executive Board.
And the hill will once again be tempting with culinary delights: international specialties, local delicacies and drinks - all in deposit containers or on a recycling basis. Nothing is missing, so you don't have to bring anything with you.
