If, for example, children scream or make a fuss, that's part of it. After all, their own children are often in the store too. This creates a very open and warm atmosphere, very relaxed and inviting. The café is very modern, open and comfortably furnished - perfect for studying or for a chat with friends in rainy weather. Everything is on offer, from breakfast and lunch to a beer after work. The vegan cinnamon buns are a dream - an absolute recommendation!

Anyone who likes Hamburg's Schanzenviertel district with its lovely neighborhood cafés will love the Kieztörtchen. Not only does it smell heavenly here, it even tastes divine. Selected products from the region, sustainable and homemade. We love the Scandinavian-inspired interior and the changing selection of sweet temptations. Oh yes, we also love going here for breakfast and simply taking the tartlets home with us for later. Delicious!

Can't every day be Sunday? That's what Café Sonntag is supposed to stand for. And yes, it is a café. With coffee roasts from the KaffeeLoft in Dortmund. And cakes that could have been baked by granny or your best friend. Homemade and with that certain something. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available. Games evenings are often held here on Fridays and on Sundays you can watch Tatort with others while enjoying delicious sandwiches.

Café Lemberger

Lovely little café in Kirchhörde

Enjoying a hot coffee and a delicious piece of cake after a long walk in the Bittermark - that sounds wonderful, and Café Lemberg on Kirchhörder Straße invites you to do just that. In July 2021, owner Janine Gregor opened her small, cozy café and changed her career direction. After her youngest child graduated from high school, it was clear to the engineering graduate that she wanted to start her own business. Until then, there had only been bakery chains in Kirchhörde where it was possible to get coffee and cake - but no nice café.

Tati's Café

Dining like on vacation

The culinary offerings make you dream of a vacation. The many sweet dishes on the menu often have an Arabic touch. As is customary in Arab countries, tea also plays an important role in Tati's café. But there is also delicious Moroccan coffee, spiced with cinnamon sticks, star anise and cloves. It is boiled for hours and is therefore more soothing than stimulating. In Morocco, it is therefore drunk in the evening. The menu features fusions and creations from Arabic, German and Mediterranean cuisine, which form a wonderful symbiosis. The dishes tell stories and it quickly becomes clear that owner Assia loves to travel and visit restaurants - all of which is incorporated into the menu. And what's particularly great is that all dishes are available as vegan variations. Even better: breakfast is available here at any time of day!

LebensArt Café

A retreat to recharge your batteries

We think this place in Huckarde is really magical - the LebensArt Café may be a little out of the way, but you should definitely go there once. And then again and again, because it will definitely become one of your favorite places. The spacious café, furnished with love and a knack for detail, is utterly enchanting. From various breakfast options and hearty sandwiches to delicious cakes, cookies and tarts, the menu leaves nothing to be desired. Many of these treats are also available as vegan options, e.g. there are always at least four cakes or tarts to choose from. Of course, you'll also find specialty coffees and delicious teas on the menu - or if you fancy a beer or a glass of wine, that's fine too!

Café Lotte

Big time when it comes to cake

The small Café Lotte in Dortmund is a big hit when it comes to cakes. Lotte is cozy and always good for a short break from shopping or for breakfast with friends. The lattes and cappuccinos are among the best in the city and chai lovers will also get their money's worth. Due to the close seating, it's not unlikely to strike up a conversation with others - very simple and uncomplicated, just true "Lotte life".

It is bigger than its sister on Saarlandstraße - the Brasserie an der Kaiserstraße. In a beautiful, old, almost magnificent building, it welcomes all visitors coming from the city center in the Kaiserviertel. Tasteful paintings of angels on the ceiling and a grandiose chandelier convey the flair of an Italian chapel, while industrial design elements and loving decoration create a successful mix of styles. In the spacious store, the operators have expanded the popular concept of the smaller Café Lotte Bistro into a restaurant. In addition to a great breakfast and homemade cakes - from "normal" to vegan and gluten-free - lunch and dinner are also available here. Enjoy the taste!

Green oasis

In the hustle and bustle of Nordstadt - or rather in the middle of Nordmarkt - you will find a small green oasis that invites you to linger. The Grüner Salon lives up to its name, because you immediately feel comfortable and at home here. Lots of light floods in through the large window front and everything looks bright and friendly, the many green plants give the room a lively feel and the vintage furniture is simply chic. A cozy mix with a great atmosphere, which also extends to the terrace and beer garden. In addition to drinks, the Grüner Salon also offers super tasty cuisine with a frequently changing menu that is guaranteed not to leave you bored! We love the "Egg Avocado" or "Hearty Vegan" for breakfast.

Mowwe

Rural, authentic and hospitable

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind with a coffee, you've come to the right place: the Mowwe café and restaurant is located in the Lanstrop nature reserve and offers the perfect balance to hectic city life. You'll find Mowwe on an old farm, surrounded by wide meadows, a paddock and a small wood - a lovely destination for winter walks and bike rides in warmer temperatures. The Mowwe farm is a family business and was first converted into a café 10 years ago by Michael and Gerlinde. Food and drinks are now served where the cowshed used to be. Treat yourself!

BierCafé West

Not just for beer lovers!

BierCafé West has been around since 2018 and is the perfect destination for craft beer lovers! But it's not just craft beer lovers who are in good hands here, coffee connoisseurs also get their money's worth. There is excellent coffee, accompanied by cakes and freshly baked waffles. If you're in the mood for a hot meal, you can choose between delicious Turkish dishes and classics such as chips and currywurst. BierCafé West mainly sources its food from regional traders, as it is also a serving station for Marktschwärmerei Dortmund. As a result, the operators have gotten to know many producers from the surrounding area and decided to work with them. We love that!

Mr. Liebig

Two pieces of cake very quickly!

Strolling through the Kreuzviertel with a delicious coffee and a cinnamon bun in your hand? Mr. Liebig turns every coffee and/or cake break into a culinary feast. The small coffee house on the corner of Liebigstrasse and Schillingstrasse opened its doors in June 2019 and has already become an integral part of the neighborhood. The delicious cakes and pastries make it very difficult to choose just one - it can easily be two. Mr. Liebig has many different roasts available for coffee lovers. It's worth trying them out!
