The highlights in the Lenbachhaus & Kunstbau 2023

The Lenbachhaus & Kunstbau have become an integral part of the Munich art scene. Between fascinating permanent exhibitions & poignant temporary exhibitions, the Lenbachhaus always manages to cast a spell over you.

The internationally active museum presents Munich art of the 19th century, the art of the Blue Rider and New Objectivity as well as, above all, international contemporary art. Anyone who has been here knows that there is something for everyone!

This year, the Lenbachhaus once again has some highlights to offer that you definitely shouldn't miss. Who, how, where, what? We'll tell you here: Look forward to our highlights at the Lenbachhaus & Kunstbau 2023!

Did you know that 21.05.2023 is International Museum Day? Here you can take various 360° tours through the Lenbachhaus, look forward to guided tours on site & take part in art talks! Best of all: admission to the Lenbachhaus is free on this day!

You can look forward to some specials at the exhibition opening on 30.03.! For example, there will be a DJ act: Gülbin Ünlü will provide the best sounds - it's worth stopping by! Also: From March 20 to April 2, 2023, the International Weeks against Racism will take place under the motto "Get involved". The Lenbachhaus is taking part with the exhibition "Charlotte Salomon. Life? or theater?" will be part of it. Let's love it!

As part of the exhibition on Natascha Sadr Haghighian, there will also be a video installation. This will be shown as a public viewing on several dates in different locations in Munich - nice! The film "The Broken Pitcher" is about a family and the foreclosure of their family home in Cyprus. How does the financial system work? How can you intervene in its processes? And can they be changed? The film attempts to address precisely these questions. The locations for the movie are yet to be released - stay tuned!
