DJ Van Tell is probably the most experienced and renowned black music DJ in Germany.
He’s kind of the father of them all, because Van has been DJing black discs in Germany for almost 20 years and he mainly owns music in his hometown of Berlin
a real cult status.
With his own CD mix series “Pure Flavor”, Van Tell is known and appreciated nationwide; he has fans and sympathizers everywhere.
Thanks to his enormous charisma and his microphone work, he is an indescribable entertainer and a guarantee for a successful black music event.
DJ Van Tell began his turntable career at the age of 17 in Brooklyn, New York, where he got his first gig at a youth center. A short time later he laid in a U.S. officers’ club. Army, and was hired as a radio DJ by Manhattan radio station 92KTU.
His father’s military career finally brought DJ Van Tell to Berlin in 1989, where his name quickly spread in the club scene. At first he demonstrated his skills primarily in U.S. armed forces clubs such as Silver Wings, Friendship, Checkpoint, and Harnack House. At the same time, he set out to conquer Berlin discos such as Chic, Silver Shadow, One Way and Afro Negro.
His incredible talent as well as his passion for his job opened doors for him to projects outside of the clubs, e.g. as a DJ for Alba Berlin (basketball team), and as a designer of weekend “mixed shows” for two well-known radio stations in Berlin. He also produced a total of eight of his own CDs called “Pure Flavor”. These promo CDs increased his popularity and made him quite in demand outside of Berlin and even outside of Germany. He is currently working in the Fat Beats Productions studio with well-known artists such as Montell Jordan
on various remix productions.
